Senior Auditor Walter, Boesky & Associates, P.C. —
Southfield, MI Job Type:
Full-time Salary:
$90,000-$120,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications About the Opportunity Walter, Boesky & Associates, P.C. is seeking a Senior Auditor to lead audit engagements, build client relationships, and help develop our audit practice. Our firm serves businesses, labor unions, nonprofit organizations, and employee benefit plans. This position offers varied engagements, direct collaboration with firm leadership, and the opportunity to take ownership of your work. What You'll Do Lead audit engagements from planning and risk assessment through fieldwork and completion. Prepare financial statements, footnote disclosures, and supporting workpapers. Evaluate internal controls, perform substantive testing, and document audit findings. Review staff workpapers and provide practical guidance and feedback. Communicate with clients to obtain information, resolve questions, and keep engagements on schedule. Manage multiple engagements, deadlines, and budgets. Work directly with the managing partner to address technical accounting and auditing matters. Assist with reviews, compilations, and related reporting as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting. At least three years of public accounting audit experience. Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and generally accepted auditing standards. Experience independently managing significant portions of an audit. Strong written communication, organization, and analytical skills. Ability to manage deadlines and maintain professional client relationships. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting and audit software. Preferred Qualifications Active CPA license or progress toward CPA certification. Experience with employee benefit plan audits, including 401(k) and defined benefit plans. Experience auditing labor unions or nonprofit organizations. Experience reviewing workpapers and mentoring junior staff. Familiarity with Forms 5500, 990, or LM-2. Why Join WBA?
