JOB SUMMARY
The Internal Auditor is responsible for assisting in the establishment, development, and evaluation of a company's internal controls over financial reporting, compliance, and business operations. Develops and maintains risk and control matrices and narratives. Develops and performs testing based on matrices and narratives not only to provide assurance to executive management, but also to support external auditors' workpapers. Responsible for performing routine daily tasks and participates in special department projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS
a. Undertake internal audits to ensure the company meets its financial operational, and compliance objectives. b. Support the development of an assurance planning reporting process. c. Draft reports on control deficiencies and make recommendations to mitigate risk and add value. d. Obtain necessary supporting documentation to perform audits, including, but not limited to, policies and procedures, reports, sample selection documentation, and confirmations, and organize workpapers in accordance with procedure e. Engage in the remediation of identified issues through follow-up. f. Complete special projects as assigned. g. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Three years' experience in banking with a general knowledge of the banking industry and its operations along with bank auditing operations procedures preferred. 2. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field or equivalent experience preferred. 3. Understanding of the bank's core operation system preferred. 4. Ability to travel to Nebraska, Wyoming, and Colorado locations. 5. Strong verbal and written communication skills. 6.
Demonstrated strength in:
decision making, dependability, independence, organization, problem solving and time management. 7. Professional appearance. 8. Proficiency in Excel, Word, Adobe, and Outlook. 9. Able to work with and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
Physical Requirements:
Light Work - exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Reaching, fingering, grasping, repetitive motions, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, climbing, kneeling, talking, hearing, pulling, pushing, thinking, concentrating and interacting with others.
