In this role, you will conduct comprehensive assessments of residential properties to identify energy-saving opportunities, improve building performance, and ensure compliance with relevant building codes and regulations. Duties Perform detailed home energy assessments by inspecting building envelopes, HVAC systems, insulation, windows, and lighting to evaluate energy performance. Analyze construction plans, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to understand building specifications and identify areas for improvement. Collect and document data on building features, utility usage, and structural components using digital tools and standardized checklists. Provide clear recommendations for energy efficiency upgrades that comply with local building codes, construction regulations, and safety standards. Collaborate with homeowners to explain assessment findings, outline potential improvements, and discuss cost-effective solutions. Conduct quality control inspections during retrofit projects to ensure adherence to construction plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Stay updated on public infrastructure construction projects and public works construction inspection standards relevant to residential energy improvements. Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for report writing, data analysis, and presentation of findings. Construction site experience combined with a solid understanding of construction regulations and safety regulations. Strong analysis skills for interpreting technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans. Experience in construction inspection, quality control, and quality inspections within the context of building code compliance. Knowledge of public infrastructure construction projects and public works construction inspection processes. Ability to assess construction specifications and ensure construction regulatory compliance during retrofit or upgrade projects. Familiarity with working on construction projects in a civil infrastructure role involving pipelines or other infrastructure elements.
