Job Description

Position Summary Join our team at RECAP, Inc. as an Energy Auditor and contribute to our mission of increasing energy efficiency, safety, and comfort in residential homes. As a key member of our Weatherization team, you will conduct energy audits for the NYS Weatherization Assistance Program and NYSERDA Empower Programs, develop work scopes, and ensure work is completed according to the New York State Weatherization Field Guide. Qualifications Required Qualifications BPI Certifications in Building Analyst and Envelope Professional, or ability to pass (training provided if needed) General knowledge of residential construction Experience in building science, relevant codes, safety, and indoor air quality (preferred) Basic computer skills Ability to work with common hands and power tools Strong interpersonal skills Valid New York State drivers license with the ability to travel between agency locations as needed. Essential Functions Conduct field audits for Weatherization Assistance Program and NYSERDA Empower Program Enter data into TIPS and EmpCalc software Create and submit EmpCalc to Empower Develop work scopes and materials lists for each job Coordinate with Production Coordinator and Weatherization Director Conduct in progress and final inspections Compliance Responsibilities Participate in round table meetings with other Auditors, Production Coordinator, and Weatherization Director Physical Requirements Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods as needed. Reach, handle, and operate objects, tools, and controls. Climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Communicate effectively, including talking and hearing. Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Possess specific vision abilities, including close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Maintain consistent punctuality and attendance at the job site. Work Environment Work conditions may include exposure to inclement weather and noise. The position may require exposure to electronic equipment including computers, printers, fax and copy machines, and cleaning equipment. If the position requires use of a motor vehicle, duties may include driving on city streets and/or highways, with exposure to inclement weather and traffic.
