To Be Determined Job Description The Utica City School District is seeking a qualified candidate for the following vacancy: School District Auditor(Temporary/Part Time)
Civil Service Classification:
Exempt Claims Auditor Scope of Work Audit overtime hours Audit each payroll period by sampling 20% of teachers cards and compare to excel hours sheet Process time sheets from teachers for extra classes and apply to Excel Hours sheet Audit checks that come to the District and make sure they are applied to District's accounting system Audit quarterly medical and dental disbursements from employees' pay Audit year-end scholarships Oversee Class Clubs Balance checkbooks Profit and loss statements from each fundraiser Taxable fundraisers must be collected and paid to NYS Department of Taxation on a quarterly basis Complete quarterly report to the Board of Education on clubs' bank balances Inventory control on fundraisers that purchase products for resale Ensure monthly meeting reports from club advisors are sent to the Chief Academic Officer Ensure all fundraisers are signed by appropriate persons Complete year-end audit regarding Fixed Assets Complete sample on twenty to thirty material items to ensure of their physical location Review depreciation rate accuracy Audit one Accounts Payable Disbursement Warrant per quarter Attend all District regular Board of Education meetings or any other meetings that may be assigned Complete any other related duties as may be assigned by the Board of Education Ensure that necessary transfers that require Board of Education approval are completed monthly Verify correct input of employee salaries in NVision program are the equivalent to Superintendent's Report accepted and passed by the Board of Education Audit Fringe Benefits monthly Make sure sample of I-9s are completed for new hires Review purchases made through grants to ensure accuracy Monitors Inventory Control through the use of QueCentre Ensures that all expenditure vouchers are properly itemized and documented before payments are made by the treasurer. Responsible for ensuring that only legitimate claims against the district are paid. Ensures that proper documentation and itemization are are provided, the payment is for a legal purpose, and the transaction was properly authorized prior to approving the voucher or invoice for payment The Claims Auditor is supervised by the Superintendent of School and reports to the Board of Education. Candidates for the position must should have or be able to obtain expertise in district finances, and have expertise with purchasing policies.

Rate of Pay:
