Rogers & Company is seeking Audit Managers to join our growing nonprofit audit practice based in Tysons Corner, VA. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced auditors seeking a challenging and rewarding environment. An Audit Manager leads the engagement team in providing services to nonprofit clients covering financial statement audits, as well as Uniform Guidance audits, reviews, agreed-upon procedures, and other attest services. Audit Managers work with firm Principals to direct the work of the audit seniors and staff, including training and reviews, and have direct interaction with client executives and boards.Responsibilities and qualifications would include:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee and support multiple audit teams concurrently, throughout all phases of planning, risk assessment, detail testing, and audit completion and reporting. Work collaboratively with client and audit team members at client sites, firm offices, or remotely to facilitate work execution and completion. Prepare, review, and evaluate working papers, and determine compliance with professional standards and firm policies. Draft and review reports, financial statements, footnote disclosures, and board communications based on audit findings and team discussions. Manage the client service experience through consistent communication with clients about service expectations, audit progress, deliverables, and year-round technical consultation. Develop an understanding of client operations, and anticipate and address client service needs in collaboration with tax and other service departments. Assist in training and mentoring audit seniors and staff, including providing regular and timely feedback. Collaborate with other firm colleagues on proposals and business development activities, and other firm functions such as recruiting, training, and marketing. Maintain annual continuing professional education requirements, while helping to train and develop staff. Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications): Minimum Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting. 6+ years of auditing experience in public accounting, with significant experience auditing nonprofit organizations, with some Uniform Guidance experience preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred; active pursuit expected if not yet licensed. Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP and GAAS, particularly within the nonprofit industry. Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate professional and technical knowledge to clients and teams. Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and disclosures, board communications, and management letters. Excellent documentation and analytical skills, and ability to work both independently and while overseeing a team. Ability to maintain strong client relationships. Participate in board and audit committee meetings and presentations. Experience with audit software applications and MS Office and audit technologies. This opportunity is based in our Tysons Corner, VA office and is primarily in-office, with periodic client-site work.
