Job Description

Audit Senior ManagerPosition Overview The Audit Senior Manager will lead and deliver high-quality financial statement audits and related assurance engagements. This role is responsible for developing and executing audit strategies, ensuring compliance with professional standards and GAAP, managing client relationships, and mentoring audit teams to drive excellence, efficiency, and timely delivery.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead planning, execution, and completion of complex audit engagements across a range of industries, ensuring compliance with GAAP and professional auditing standards.

Develop audit strategies, risk assessments, and tailored audit programs for clients with varying complexity.

Supervise, coach, and mentor audit teamsincluding seniors, staff, and managersproviding timely feedback and promoting continuous development.

Review audit workpapers, financial statements, and management reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP.Serve as primary client contact for audit matters, building and maintaining strong client relationships and delivering clear, practical recommendations.

Manage engagement budgets, timelines, resource allocation, and billing to ensure profitable and on-time delivery of engagements.

Identify and escalate significant accounting, internal control, and reporting issues to senior leadership and clients; propose remediation and process improvements.

Coordinate with internal specialists (tax, IT, valuation) and external parties (regulators, lenders) as required to support audit objectives.

Drive practice development activities including business development, proposal preparation, and contribution to firm-wide audit methodology and quality initiatives.

Promote a culture of quality, ethics, and continuous improvement in audit processes and use of technology and data analytics.

QualificationsCertified Public Accountant (CPA) required.7+ years of progressive public accounting experience with a significant portion in audit, including experience overseeing engagements.

Prior experience as a Senior Audit Manager or Audit Manager preferred and considered a strong advantage.

In-depth knowledge of GAAP and current accounting and auditing standards.

Proven ability to lead and develop teams, manage client relationships, and handle multiple engagements concurrently.

Strong technical accounting, analytical, and risk assessment skills, with attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting matters to clients and stakeholders.

Proficiency with audit and accounting software and comfort using data analytics tools.

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications a plus.

Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
