Glenview, Illinois Salary:
$90,000-$120,000 per year A respected public accounting firm in Glenview is seeking an Audit Supervisor to oversee engagements, lead audit teams, and serve as a primary point of contact for clients. This is a true leadership-level opportunity for an experienced public accountant who can manage engagements with limited oversight and is ready to operate at the supervisor-to-manager level. Responsibilities Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients. Manage engagement timelines, staffing, budgets, deliverables, and day-to-day coordination with clients and internal teams. Review financial statements, audit reports, workpapers, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance with GAAP, GAAS, and firm standards. Serve as a key client contact, communicating audit findings, engagement progress, and value-added recommendations. Evaluate internal controls, identify financial and operational risks, and recommend practical process improvements. Provide technical guidance, training, review notes, and ongoing development support to seniors, associates, and interns. Coordinate with partners on engagement strategy, technical matters, scheduling, and resource allocation. Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback. Contribute to quality-control efforts, internal process improvements, and the continued growth of the audit practice. Qualifications Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting. At least five years of public accounting audit experience. Previous experience leading engagements, reviewing staff work, and managing client relationships. CPA license highly preferred. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, financial statements, and audit methodology. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements, competing deadlines, client relationships, and audit teams. Strong leadership and project-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
