$75,000-$95,000 per year A growing public accounting firm in Glenview is hiring a Senior Audit Associate to lead fieldwork, supervise junior team members, and work directly with privately held businesses and nonprofit clients. Responsibilities Lead audit fieldwork under the direction of managers and partners, including planning, testing, documentation, and reporting. Manage assigned engagement areas and help keep work progressing against budgets, deadlines, and quality expectations. Review financial statements, workpapers, and audit documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with professional standards. Supervise, coach, and provide feedback to associates and interns throughout engagements. Communicate directly with clients to request information, resolve questions, and provide status updates. Identify audit issues, control weaknesses, and process-improvement opportunities. Clearly communicate audit findings and practical recommendations. Assist managers and partners with developing audit strategies and engagement plans. Stay current on relevant accounting, auditing, and regulatory developments. Support clients across a mix of privately held companies, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations. Qualifications Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting preferred. At least two years of public accounting audit experience. Experience leading portions of audit engagements preferred. Active pursuit of CPA certification or an active CPA license required. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and GAAS. Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organization, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with audit software and Microsoft Office.
