Our mission is to make the world a cleaner and safer place by providing highly effective solutions for Vehicle Inspection through innovative technologies, customer focus and operational excellence. Opus' technologies and services help our state partners meet strict US EPA Clean Air regulations by managing vehicle inspection programs, Vehicle Information Databases, and developing differentiated solutions for remote vehicle monitoring Job Purpose The Mystery Shopper/ Covert Auditor is responsible for conducting audits at emission testing stations throughout Rhode Island. This position requires independent work while regularly exercising independent professional judgement. They will also communicate regularly with management and operations and use analysis and professional judgment to recommend appropriate actions. This is a temporary position with an expected duration of 4-6 weeks. Duties & Responsibilities Calling and scheduling appointments for state inspections Picking up the assigned vehicle and cash from the office each day Meeting with the designated DMV agent prior to each audit Driving to the targeted inspection station, requesting a state inspection, and observing the full inspection process, including payment Reconvening with the DMV agent after the inspection to document findings and complete the audit record (handwritten) Proceed to next inspection station Make additional appointments in between audits if necessary Perform other duties as assigned by manager
Requirements:
Requirements Have a valid, unrestricted driver's license Knowledge of Rhode Island DMV policy Availability to participate in a DMV hearing if necessary — unlikely unless a significant issue arises Disclose any relationship with friends or family that work, own, or are associated with an inspection station to avoid disclosure Strong attention to detail Strong verbal and written communication skills Driver's license must be in good standing with good driving record Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Proficient in Microsoft Office Knowledge of basic computer operations Successful completion of criminal and civil background checks. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen with satisfactory results Pay $25/hour Pay Transparency In order to support the Fair Compensation Strategy by the US Govt., HR Dept., clients are required to adhere to "Pay Transparency Law"; in the impacted states; that have mandated the employers to list the salary ranges in Job advertisements or postings for job opportunities and Job promotions.
