Job Description
We are looking for an Audit Staff team member to join a public accounting team in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This role is ideal for someone with at least two years of experience who enjoys working directly with clients, analyzing financial information, and contributing to high-quality audit and accounting engagements. The position offers the opportunity to support a range of assurance-related assignments while building strong working relationships and maintaining excellent service standards.
Responsibilities:
Execute audit, accounting, and tax-related assignments under the guidance of senior team members, managers, and partners. Prepare organized supporting documentation that clearly explains findings and supports final conclusions. Apply industry standards and firm policies to produce accurate, dependable work across client engagements. Use audit and industry software effectively to complete testing, documentation, and engagement tasks. Assist with organizing engagement timelines, coordinating schedules, and supporting audit planning activities. Review and interpret financial statements to identify key issues, trends, and areas requiring follow-up. Manage multiple priorities to meet reporting deadlines and address client questions in a timely, effective manner. Build productive relationships with client contacts, colleagues, and industry associations to support long-term collaboration. Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting audit. Background in audit work involving information systems or technology-related controls. Understanding of audit procedures, accounting principles, and financial statement analysis. Ability to prepare clear, thorough workpapers and document conclusions accurately. Proficiency with audit software and other firm or industry-related applications. Strong time management skills with the ability to handle deadlines across multiple engagements. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients and internal teams. Insurance industry exposure is preferred.
