CLA is currently seeking an Audit Associate to join our State and Local Government (SLG) practice in our Houston office. Our SLG group is one of the fastest growing practice areas within CLA consisting of 600 professionals serving over 2100 local, county, and state government agencies. How you'll create opportunities in this Assurance Senior role: Perform the detail work of audits, review, some compilations, and other assurance services for clients. Support multiple client engagements of varying size and complexity, on time and within budget, and communicate progress and audit results to supervisors. Complete assigned portions of engagements with consistency and accuracy and within tight time frames. Proactively interact and communicate with clients to gather information to ensure timely engagement wrap-up. Audit complex areas/transactions as well as prepare financial statements and related reports. May begin to direct small audits at the two-year level. Collaborate with managers/principals to ensure effective communication and service delivery. Get the opportunity to work with many great clients. Develop and maintain effective client relationships.
What you will need:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. 1 year of relevant experience in professional services required (completed internship(s) may qualify as related experience) State and Local Government audit industry experience is a plus.
