AmeriStaff, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Business Compliance Auditor to fill openings with a company located in Martinsville, VA. We are looking for individuals who are energetic and motivated. Benefits of the
Business Compliance Auditor:
Full time. Monday-Friday. 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. $21 - $23 per hour. Responsibilities of the
Business Compliance Auditor:
Conduct business compliance and taxation audits. Administer business licenses and related compliance requirements. Perform local meals tax and transient occupancy tax audits. Conduct cigarette stamp compliance audits. Review business records, accounting information, and financial documentation for accuracy and compliance. Prepare financial records, reports, and related documentation. Interpret and apply applicable state and local taxation codes, ordinances, regulations, and legal requirements. Communicate taxation requirements and compliance matters to taxpayers, business owners and operators, attorneys, financial officers, colleagues, and the public. Address difficult or sensitive customer situations professionally and effectively. Research and discuss legal interpretations and applications of taxation laws and ordinances. Perform general mathematical calculations and analyze financial information. Utilize Microsoft Office, Excel, computers, accounting equipment, and other modern office technology. Work collaboratively with colleagues and other organizational staff. Provide professional, accurate, and courteous customer service. Qualifications of the
Business Compliance Auditor:
Associate's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field. Three to five years of experience in tax administration or a comparable public-sector position. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. Strong analytical, communication, and customer service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel. Ability to perform general mathematical calculations. Valid driver's license. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. #
