Job Description
Job Summary Emblem insures the trucking companies that keep South Florida moving — dump trucks, aggregate haulers, and construction fleets carrying sand, rock, fill, asphalt and materials across Miami-Dade and Broward. It's a specialized book, and it's the whole book. You must hold an active Florida 2-20 General Lines Agent license. If you don't, this isn't the role — and we'd rather tell you in the first line than in the fifth paragraph.
What this job actually is:
you own your accounts end to end — quoting, marketing submissions, binding, servicing, renewing. Not a queue. Your accounts. Our clients work on jobsite time. A COI may be needed today for a truck to get through the gate. A unit added wrong is a truck that can't run. A missed premium finance notice is a cancellation nobody needed. We're looking for someone who already knows that rhythm and stays ahead of it. This is an on-site, full-time position in our Miami office. What you'll own Quote, market and sell commercial insurance to trucking and construction clients — identify exposures, submit to carriers, wholesalers, and MGAs, and present the options clearly Issue Certificates of Insurance and secure the endorsements the contract actually requires — Additional Insured, Waiver of Subrogation, Primary & Non-Contributory, notice of cancellation — and confirm the endorsement is really on the policy before the certificate goes out Handle renewals, endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements and the constant add/delete of units and drivers that comes with seasonal construction work Track USDOT filings, MCS-150 updates, and MCS-90 endorsements; chase the workers' comp and exemption certificates general contractors require before they'll clear a subhauler Manage premium finance agreements, down payments and installment schedules — and handle every premium as fiduciary trust funds under Florida law Keep files complete, organized and audit-ready What you need Active Florida 2-20 General Lines Agent license. A 4-40 Customer Representative license does not qualify for this position Commercial lines experience in an insurance agency — 3+ years is our benchmark, not a wall Hands-on commercial auto and trucking accounts: auto liability, motor truck cargo, physical damage, general liability, excess/umbrella, workers' comp Professional English and Spanish, written and spoken. You'll explain coverage, exclusions, limits, endorsements, and payment obligations in both Working command of COIs and construction-contract endorsements Comfortable in an agency management system (AMS360, Applied Epic, EZLynx, HawkSoft or similar) and intermediate Excel Relentless on follow-through. This role runs on deadlines with real consequences Nice to have Dump truck, aggregate or construction-hauling accounts specifically — you know why cargo limits get required on a load of dirt Florida 1-20 Surplus Lines, or placement through E&S wholesalers and transportation MGAs
