Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Collision Repair Estimator to join our fast-paced automotive service team. In this role, you will be the vital link between customers and our repair facility, accurately assessing vehicle damage, preparing detailed repair estimates, and ensuring a smooth process from initial inspection to vehicle return. Your expertise will help deliver exceptional customer service while maximizing shop productivity and profitability. Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to assess the extent of collision repairs needed, utilizing automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge. Prepare comprehensive repair estimates that include parts, labor, and materials, ensuring accuracy and transparency for customers and insurance companies. Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair procedures, costs, timelines, and additional services such as upselling relevant maintenance or enhancements. Collaborate with technicians, mechanics, and other team members to coordinate repair processes efficiently. Assist with service writing and documentation to ensure all repairs meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations. Manage auto estimating software and maintain detailed records of all estimates, repairs, and customer interactions. Promote additional services such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, suspension work, alignments, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, transmissions, and vehicle maintenance packages to enhance customer satisfaction. Requirements Proven dealership experience or extensive auto service management background is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and automotive repair procedures including auto body repair and auto estimating. Familiarity with a wide range of automotive services such as oil changes, tire service, alignments, suspension work, brake repairs, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brakes, transmissions, and vehicle maintenance. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally. Experience in upselling additional services or parts while maintaining integrity and customer trust. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately when necessary. Mechanical experience or service technician background is a plus for understanding repair complexities. Knowledge of auto sales processes is beneficial for providing comprehensive vehicle care options. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and record keeping.
