Monday-Friday No weekends About the Position Desert Oasis European Auto Service and Repair is looking for a knowledgeable, detail-oriented Automotive Estimator to join our growing team. This is not a traditional service advisor position. The primary focus of this role is to take technician findings, inspections, diagnostic results, and outside estimate requests and turn them into complete, accurate, well-researched repair estimates . The estimator plays a critical role in supporting our service advisors, technicians, parts department, and overall shop workflow. In addition to internal estimates generated from vehicles already in the shop, the estimator is also responsible for all incoming external estimate requests . These may come in through phone calls, email, our website, Google, text, online inquiries, and other lead sources. We are looking for someone who understands automotive repair, knows how to research labor and parts properly, can manage a steady flow of estimate requests, and has the attention to detail needed to make sure nothing gets missed. Responsibilities Build complete repair estimates from technician inspections, diagnostic findings, and recommendations Handle all external estimate requests and estimate inquiries coming into the business Respond to estimate requests received by phone, email, website, Google, text, online inquiries, and other lead sources Research and prepare estimates for prospective clients who have not yet brought their vehicle into the shop Follow up when additional vehicle information, VIN information, repair details, or clarification is needed to complete an estimate Help ensure incoming estimate opportunities are handled promptly and do not fall through the cracks Review technician notes, stories, photos, videos, and MPIs to ensure estimates accurately reflect the recommended repair Research labor times and required repair procedures Research parts, pricing, availability, and appropriate part options Verify that all related components are included in the estimate Account for necessary seals, gaskets, hardware, fluids, programming, calibrations, alignments, one-time-use components, and related operations where applicable Prepare estimates for service advisors to review and present to clients Build pre-written estimates for upcoming appointments Help manage parts pricing and maintain appropriate parts gross profit margins Communicate with technicians, service advisors, parts personnel, vendors, and management when clarification is needed Review estimates for accuracy and completeness before they are presented to the client Help prevent missed labor, missed parts, duplicate items, and incomplete repair quotes Keep estimates, leads, and repair orders organized and updated Assist with workflow so technicians and advisors are not waiting on estimates Help identify estimating, labor, or parts errors before they affect the repair process Maintain timely communication and follow-through on both internal and external estimate requests What We're Looking For Previous automotive estimating, parts, service writing, technician, or automotive repair experience Strong understanding of automotive repair and maintenance Ability to understand technician recommendations and convert them into complete repair estimates Strong parts and labor research skills Excellent attention to detail Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple estimates, leads, and priorities at the same time Strong computer skills Ability to learn and work within automotive shop management systems, parts catalogs, labor guides, OEM information systems, and estimating tools Ability to communicate clearly with technicians, advisors, parts personnel, vendors, and prospective clients Reliable, accountable, and able to work independently Comfortable working in a fast-paced automotive repair environment Strong follow-through and the ability to take ownership of incoming estimate requests from start to finish Preferred Experience Experience with European, luxury, import, or high-line vehicles is strongly preferred.

The bonus structure is designed to reward accurate estimating, proper parts pricing, complete repair planning, and strong overall parts performance. You should be the type of person who looks at a repair recommendation and immediately starts thinking: What else is needed to complete this repair correctly? You understand that an estimate is more than adding a part and a labor line to a repair order. A complete estimate may require additional seals, hardware, fluids, one-time-use fasteners, programming, calibrations, alignments, or related operations. We are looking for someone who catches those details before the vehicle is taken apart . You must also be comfortable handling a steady flow of incoming estimate requests. An estimate request from a prospective client is an opportunity, and we need someone who takes ownership of it, researches it properly, responds promptly, and makes sure it does not sit unanswered.
