Job Description

Branch Operations Specialist - Millbrae, CA (Floater) Position Overview This recruitment may be filled at either the Branch Operations Specialist (Floater) or Branch Operations Officer (Floater) level, based on the selected candidate's experience and qualifications. The position provides personalized banking services while supporting branch operations, client service, staff development, and regulatory compliance. The individual must be able to travel between branch locations as needed and will support the Branch Manager in maintaining operational standards, strengthening the client experience, and promoting branch growth. This is an onsite position. The selected candidate must be available to work at various branch locations based on business needs. Responsibilities for Both Positions Schedule branch staff to maintain appropriate coverage.
  • Partner with branch employees to deliver a positive and professional client experience.
  • Maintain current knowledge of operational standards and procedures; prepare and review branch documentation for compliance with established requirements.
  • Ensure the Branch Certification package is accurate and complete.
  • Maintain branch security by training employees on security procedures and safeguarding keys, combinations, security signals, and cash limits.
  • Communicate resolutions regarding account disputes and other account activity.
  • Complete daily operational duties and reports, including file maintenance and overdraft reporting.
  • Review branch reports and approve or decline exceptions within assigned transaction approval authority.
  • Perform teller duties, open new accounts, and complete callbacks for new accounts and file maintenance.
  • Review new account documentation for adherence to procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Answer phones and resolve escalated client service concerns.
  • Complete a minimum of 10 CRA volunteer hours annually. Volunteer activities are generally scheduled during business hours; approved time and mileage are compensated.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Branch Operations Officer:
Sales Responsibilities Lead the implementation of sales programs designed to generate targeted branch deposit growth.
  • Assess prospective client needs and recommend appropriate financial products and services.
  • Partner with the Branch Manager on business client prospecting and business development, including external calling activities.
  • Provide ongoing relationship support to retain current clients and identify additional business opportunities.
  • Generate new business to support established profitability goals.
  • Assist with promotional activities as needed.
Branch Operations Specialist:
Leadership and Service Provide operational guidance, training, and development to branch employees.
  • Recognize employees for exceptional client service, sales, and operational performance.
  • Encourage employee engagement and professional development.
  • Partner with the Branch Manager to establish team goals and support promotional activities.
  • Listen actively to clients and maintain a friendly, positive, and professional approach.
  • Resolve challenging situations with creativity, tact, and diplomacy while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
  • Support client retention activities in partnership with the Branch Manager.
  • Assess prospective client needs and recommend appropriate financial products and services.
Branch Operations Officer:

  • Recognize employees for exceptional client service, sales, and operational performance.
  • Encourage employee engagement and professional development.
  • Partner with the Branch Manager to establish team goals and motivate employees to achieve results.

  • Support client retention activities in partnership with the Branch Manager. Supervisory Responsibilities Branch Operations Specialist Manage up to two branch employees.
  • Provide operational guidance, training, and development to Client Service Representatives and/or New Account staff.
  • Regularly assess employee performance and support the Branch Manager with performance management and midyear or annual evaluations.
  • Assist with employee scheduling and accurate timecard review.
  • Process the Daily Large Transaction report and submit it to the Compliance Department by the established cutoff time.
  • Process NSF exception items and maintain related supporting documentation by the established cutoff time.
  • Approve teller transactions within assigned authority and provide supervisor overrides when required.
  • Support the Branch Manager with assigned duties and assist with client matters in the Branch Manager's absence. Branch Operations Officer Manage up to five branch employees.
  • Provide operational guidance, training, and development to Client Service Representatives and/or New Account staff.
  • Regularly assess employee performance and support the Branch Manager with performance management and midyear or annual evaluations.
  • Manage employee schedules and confirm accurate timecards.
  • Process the Daily Large Transaction report and submit it to the Compliance Department by the established cutoff time.

  • Approve large teller transactions within assigned authority and provide supervisor overrides when required.
  • Support the Branch Manager or designated backup with assigned duties and manage client matters in the Branch Manager's absence. Qualifications Branch Operations Specialist Minimum of five years of banking experience.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of two years of banking operations experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and banking software.
  • Notary Public commission preferred.
  • Ability to travel between branches as needed. Branch Operations Officer Minimum of eight years of banking experience.
  • Minimum of four years of supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of four years of banking operations experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and banking software.
  • Notary Public commission preferred.
