The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and reliably managing all facility activities.

Essential Responsibilities:

Provide hands-on leadership and oversight of daily plant operations, including startup, shutdown, production, maintenance, reliability, product quality, equipment performance, inventory and abnormal operating conditions. Maintain a strong field presence and sufficient operational knowledge to recognize problems, ask appropriate questions and lead the team toward resolution. Maintain working knowledge of the responsibilities of branch operating, production, transportation, maintenance-support and administrative positions to effectively lead the facility and provide appropriate coverage and support. Prioritize production, maintenance, reliability and construction activities based on safety, operational risk, customer impact and business need. Apply critical thinking and sound judgment to identify, investigate and resolve operational issues with an appropriate sense of urgency. Take ownership through resolution, including establishing next steps and timelines, following up without prompting and verifying the effectiveness of completed actions. Ensure the plant and its employees operate safely through routine field engagement, audits and verification that required safety protocols, procedures and operating expectations are being followed.

Requirements:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; a bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, business or a related field is preferred. Eight (8) years of progressively responsible leadership experience is preferred, including at least five (5) years of hands-on manufacturing, chemical plant or industrial operations management experience. Experience should demonstrate direct responsibility for plant operations, employee leadership, safety, maintenance coordination, operational problem solving and follow-through. Experience with hazardous materials transportation, rail operations, contractor management, chemical manufacturing and/or chlor-alkali or bleach production is strongly preferred.
