Frank's Supply Company is a major supplier of construction tools and equipment with our focus on both sales and rental. We are currently seeking a qualified Branch Manager for our Los Alamos, NM location.
Summary of Position Responsibilities:
The branch manager oversees the day to day activities for the store, including, sales, warehousing, purchasing, pricing and customer relations. It is primarily through this position that we demonstrate our commitment to achieve customer service excellence. This position is responsible for performing customer service tasks in accordance with company business practices and in the professional manner required to build market share and maintain repeat business with our valued customers.
Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Assumes overall responsibility for profitability of the branch. Oversees all branch sales, warehousing, pricing, accounting and customer relations.
- Approves, within budgetary limits, all branch office expenditures for purchase of supplies and equipment.
- May perform the duties of an Outside Salesperson as outlined in the job description for the position.
- Prepares budget and sales forecasts for management.
- Handles important customer complaints and service problems.
- Assumes responsibility for the physical plant and maintenance.
- Attends and participates in company meetings, industry conferences and conventions.
- Performs duties inherent in all supervisory positions.
- Must be able to identify, evaluate, and assimilate information before making quality decisions
- Participate in personal development including activities as directed by management which can include:
- Attending department and company meetings
- Attending computer software seminars
- Attending vendor and other training courses as approved by management; use self-instructional materials available
- Read trade, vendor and other product or services materials
- Keep informed about company plans, marketing and sales goals, promotions and related materials, policies and procedures
- Other training courses approved by management
- May prepare special reports for management.
- Perform special projects, participate on project teams, and other tasks as assigned by management
Specific items the Branch Manager is responsible for include:
Dispatching and scheduling pick-ups and deliveries
Managing Employee time off and overtime
Receiving inventory; stay current on payables and ensure we receive early pay discounts
Keep basket tickets from building up; ensure they are processed daily
Conducting ongoing training and cross-training for all employees
Communicating regularly with Service Manager to service equipment timely and maintain fleet
Ensure annual inspections are current for all rental equipment as well as semi-trucks
Stay current on open order report
Ensure all clerical activities are happening on a regular basis including but not limited to balancing cash drawer, making bank deposits, and checking the mail box
Issuing necessary credits and filling out paperwork for vendor claims timely
Communicating and executing transfers timely
Interviewing, hiring, disciplining, and terminating staff as needed in conjunction with Human Resources
Participating in Affirmative Action and other necessary training via Human Resources
Writing POs for Type 08 expenses items timely
Staying current on work orders and sales orders
Setting minimum and maximum inventory levels, performing cycle counts, and managing inventory in conjunction with purchasing
Assisting Corporate Fleet Manager with evaluation of rental equipment and transfers as necessary
Communicate with Accounts Payables on buy out purchases and other credit card usage

Maintain a 95% inventory shipping level.
