About the role We are looking for a Branch Manager to join our growing team at our Portland (6547 SE Milwaukie Ave., Portland, OR, 97202) location! As a Branch Manager , you won't just sit in a back office, you'll lead from the front lines! Working alongside your team of Precious Metals Analysts (PMAs) , you will coach in real-time, ensure strict compliance and asset security, manage cash and inventory, and deliver exceptional service to every client who walks through our doors. Example:
Work directly on the sales floor alongside PMAs, providing real-time coaching and constructive feedback.
Staff Management:
Build optimized staff schedules, manage timekeeping and pre-payroll reporting, and assign daily operational tasks.
Growth & Mentorship:
Onboard and train new hires, conduct regular performance check-ins, and foster an accountable, supportive team culture.
Branch Operations & Asset Management Inventory & Cash Control:
Balance inventory against POS daily, oversee bullion chain of custody, manage secure/active cash counts, and process bank deposits.
Daily Readiness:
Ensure daily open/close procedures, daily audits, store cleanliness, and supplies management are seamlessly executed.
Stock Oversight:
Monitor stock thresholds for key items and collaborate with the General Manager regarding inventory balancing.
Compliance, Safety & Security Regulatory Rigor:
Ensure strict adherence to FINTRAC reporting rules, municipal secondhand dealer regulations, and company policies.
Safety First:
Oversee health, safety, and security setups, remain vigilant on the floor/cameras, and execute emergency protocols when needed.
Emergency Coverage:
Hold primary responsibility for 24/7 branch emergency response (health, safety, security, fire, flood).
Client Experience & Trust Elevate Service:
Ensure all clients are greeted warmly and guided expertly through buying and selling transactions.
VIP & Escalation Handling:
Personally assist with large transactions, unique customer requests, and delicate situations with fairness and integrity.
Prompt Communication:
Maintain team standards for returning customer emails and voicemails within 24 hours. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Comfortable taking personal accountability for high-value inventory, cash, and strict documentation. Ability to learn the full precious metals buying process. Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal/written communication, and a calm, decisive demeanour under pressure. Ability to pass a comprehensive background check upon conditional offer of employment; on-site presence required full-time, along with 24/7 availability for urgent branch emergencies.
