Job Description

Navigate Accounting Services is growing, and we're looking for an experienced bookkeeper with a strong accounting foundation to join our team. This is not an entry-level position. We're looking for someone who understands accounting principles—not just data entry. The ideal candidate has bookkeeping experience, understands how financial statements work, and enjoys helping business owners make informed decisions. You'll begin by learning our systems, processes, and client expectations while supporting existing client work. As you demonstrate consistency, accuracy, and sound judgment, you'll gradually take ownership of your own portfolio of business clients. Responsibilities Manage bookkeeping for multiple business clients Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts Record journal entries and month-end adjustments Prepare accurate monthly financial statements Process payroll and payroll tax filings Assist with cleanup and catch-up bookkeeping projects Identify and research discrepancies Communicate professionally with clients and team members Work closely with our tax department to ensure accurate year-end reporting Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or currently pursuing an Accounting degree Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits and credits, financial statements, and account reconciliations Experience with QuickBooks Online Payroll experience is preferred Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Professional written and verbal communication Who Will Thrive Here We're looking for someone who enjoys learning, takes ownership of their work, and wants to build a long-term career in public accounting. Compensation & Benefits Starting pay: $24-$30 per hour, depending on experience Full-time position Professional development opportunities Opportunities for advancement based on performance and demonstrated competency Applicants should be prepared to complete a bookkeeping and accounting skills assessment as part of the interview process.
