We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper/Accounting Specialist to join our team in a part-time, on-site position, averaging 20 hours per week. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional seeking meaningful, flexible part-time work in a friendly, collaborative small business environment. Ideal candidates may include experienced bookkeepers, accounting professionals seeking reduced hours, retirees, or individuals returning to the workforce.
Schedule Preferred hours are:
Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, or Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Some flexibility is available. Additional hours during the first few business days of each month may be needed to support billing and month-end activities.
Compensation:
$32 per hour. Position Summary This position is responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping functions, supporting contract administration activities, and helping maintain efficient financial and operational processes. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with a small team. Accounting & Bookkeeping Responsibilities Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping functions, including: Accounts Receivable Accounts Payable Billing Banking, Bank and credit card reconciliations Financial reporting Utilize QuickBooks and related software integrations to maintain accurate financial records Generate and distribute monthly customer invoices through electronic and mail delivery methods Process customer payments, including credit card transactions and electronic deposits Prepare month-end accounting reports and supporting documentation Work closely with the company's CPA to provide information needed for tax filings and financial review Maintain organized electronic accounting records and documentation within cloud-based filing systems Identify opportunities to improve bookkeeping and billing processes Assist in developing and documenting accounting procedures and internal controls Respond promptly and professionally to client and internal inquiries via phone and email Contract Administration Responsibilities Receive and process customer contracts and related documentation Coordinate contract execution and establish new customer accounts Maintain accurate records of contract renewal dates and other key deadlines Monitor and track contract activity within company databases and calendar systems Identify opportunities to improve contract administration processes Prepare and distribute customer correspondence and mailings as needed Qualifications Required 3+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related financial experience Strong experience with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, or comparable accounting software Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word Thorough understanding of bookkeeping elements and generally accepted accounting principles Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality Preferred Experience in a small business or nonprofit environment Experience with process improvement initiatives Experience with nonprofit accounting or bookkeeping Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field Why Join Abel Screening?
