Full Charge Bookkeeper
Job Description
Description A growing construction company is looking for a Full Charge Bookkeeper who can take ownership of the company's day-to-day accounting and keep financial operations running smoothly. This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable working across the entire accounting cycle and understands the unique financial activity that comes with construction projects. You'll work closely with ownership, project managers, vendors, and field teams while maintaining accurate books and providing timely financial information.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities from transaction entry through financial reporting
+ Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts
+ Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
+ Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts
+ Prepare and post journal entries
+ Track project-related expenses and costs
+ Review invoices and code expenses to the appropriate jobs
+ Monitor customer payments and outstanding receivables
+ Prepare monthly financial statements
+ Assist with month-end and year-end close
+ Track subcontractor and vendor activity
+ Assist with job-cost reporting and project profitability analysis
+ Maintain accurate employee expense and reimbursement records
+ Prepare reports for ownership and project management
+ Support payroll and payroll-related accounting
+ Coordinate with outside CPA/tax professionals as needed
+ Maintain organized documentation for audits and tax filings Requirements + 4+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience
+ Construction accounting experience strongly preferred
+ Strong knowledge of AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, and financial statements
+ Experience with job costing
+ Strong Excel skills
+ QuickBooks or construction accounting software experience
+ Excellent attention to detail
+ Comfortable working independently
+ Strong communication skills
