Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support a utilities and infrastructure organization in Chino, California. This Contract position is well suited for a detail oriented individual who can manage invoice workflows, maintain accurate coding, and help ensure timely vendor payments. The ideal candidate brings strong accounts payable knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Process a high volume of vendor invoices with accuracy, ensuring charges are assigned to the correct accounts and cost categories.
- Review supporting documentation, verify payment details, and resolve discrepancies before invoices are approved for payment.
- Prepare and execute ACH payments and check runs in accordance with established schedules and internal controls.
- Maintain complete and organized accounts payable records to support reporting, audits, and month-end activities.
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams to answer payment questions, research outstanding items, and address account issues promptly.
- Monitor invoice status from receipt through payment, helping to keep transactions current and compliant with company procedures.
- Assist with process-related tasks tied to invoice handling and payment operations as needed by the accounting team.
