EEF works in partnership with district leadership, school communities, families, donors, and community partners to raise funds and resources in support of EUSD students. Position Overview EEF is seeking an experienced and highly organized Bookkeeper to support the Foundation's day-to-day financial operations and help maintain accurate, timely, and well-documented financial records. Working closely with the Executive Director, Treasurer, Finance Committee, and school-site representatives, the Bookkeeper will support bookkeeping and accounting functions, account reconciliations, financial processing, reporting, and the accurate tracking and allocation of incoming and restricted funds. This is a part-time position averaging approximately 10-15 hours per week, primarily office-based with hybrid flexibility. Regular in-person work is expected, including a minimum of one day per week in the EEF office, with additional in-person availability as needed for meetings, banking activities, financial processing, and other EEF responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate and organized financial records for EEF Central and school-site Chapter accounts. Support routine bookkeeping, transaction entry, account coding, and financial recordkeeping. Perform and support regular bank and account reconciliations. Process approved payments, reimbursements, deposits, transfers, and other financial transactions. Track and appropriately allocate incoming funds, including donations, corporate matching funds, restricted funds, and other revenue. Support school-site Financial Representatives with reconciliation, documentation, and financial processes. Assist with financial reporting and provide accurate information to the Executive Director, Treasurer, Finance Committee, and Board as needed. Maintain organized financial documentation and records in accordance with EEF policies and record-retention requirements. Support vendor documentation and financial recordkeeping, including collection and maintenance of required forms and supporting documentation. Assist with year-end financial processes, audits/reviews, tax preparation, and other financial reporting needs as requested. Help maintain and strengthen EEF's financial procedures, internal controls, and documentation practices. Qualifications Previous bookkeeping, accounting, finance, or related professional experience. Strong working knowledge of bookkeeping principles, account reconciliation, and financial recordkeeping. Experience working with accounting software and financial systems. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through. Ability to manage multiple accounts, funding sources, and financial records. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, Board members, and school-site representatives. Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion. Nonprofit, educational foundation, school district, or similar organizational experience is preferred.
