Job Description
An established construction contractor in Vista, CA is seeking a full-time Bookkeeper to join their team. This is a great opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented accounting professional who is interested in building their career within the construction industry. The Bookkeeper will support the day-to-day financial and administrative functions of construction projects, with a strong focus on accurate data entry, job costing, budgeting, billing, and project financial tracking. This position will work within QuickBooks and Procore to ensure project costs, contracts, change orders, and billing information are accurately recorded and maintained from initial project setup through final closeout.

Monday-Friday, in officeHours:
6:00 AM-2:30 PM or 7:00 AM-3:30PM Pay:
$28-$32/hour, depending on experience Key Responsibilities- Perform accurate financial and project-related data entry in QuickBooks and Procore.
- Assist with uploading contracts and change orders into Procore and identify synchronization issues between Procore and QuickBooks.
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and progress billing activities.
- Track project expenses and assist with job costing to ensure costs are properly assigned to individual projects.
- Assist with project budgets and monitor costs throughout the lifecycle of each job.
- Maintain organized financial and project documentation from initial setup through project closeout.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain accurate records for internal and year-end audits.
- Provide documentation and information requested by the company's CPA as needed.
- Provide general accounting and administrative support to the team. Qualifications
- Previous office experience within a general contractor or subcontractor environment preferred.
- Basic experience with QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop, including data entry and general system navigation.
- Familiarity with Procore is highly preferred; training may be provided for candidates with strong technical aptitude.
- Understanding of construction job costing and the difference between job-specific costs and general business expenses.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with functions such as VLOOKUP and PivotTables is a plus.
- Familiarity with GAAP and construction accounting/revenue recognition concepts is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, accuracy, and ability to maintain thorough financial records.
- Ability to learn new systems and processes and work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
