Job Description

Description We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support daily financial operations for a team based in Oakland, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, accurate, and comfortable handling a mix of payables, receivables, and administrative accounting tasks. The role requires strong attention to detail, consistent data accuracy, and confidence working with accounting software in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Process vendor invoices, verify supporting details, and prepare payments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Record incoming payments, update customer account information, and help maintain current receivables balances.
  • Enter financial and transactional data into accounting systems with a high level of precision.
  • Use QuickBooks to maintain records, review account activity, and support routine bookkeeping functions.
  • Assist with invoice processing workflows, including matching documentation and resolving basic discrepancies.
  • Support payroll-related recordkeeping and benefits payroll administration by ensuring information is entered correctly.
  • Reconcile accounting entries and help investigate variances by reviewing source documents and system records. Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in an accounting clerk or similar finance support role.
  • Practical knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Hands-on experience using QuickBooks for day-to-day accounting tasks.
  • Strong data entry skills with a consistent focus on accuracy and completeness.
  • Experience handling invoice processing and reviewing financial documentation.
  • Familiarity with payroll support, including benefits payroll administration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a structured work environment.
