ACCOUNTING

SPECIALIST, onsite at our office in Oakland. As an accounting specialist, you oversee financial and accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and basic financial reporting. The accounting specialist will be supported by a CPA firm for the annual filing of tax returns, and any complex accounting projects. Duties Daily Review positive pay exceptions with the bank, and approve or reject as appropriate Maintain an internal accounting procedures manual Process and record deposit transactions timely and accurately Review vendor invoices for reasonableness and completion, and record them into the accounting software. Bi-Weekly Prepare and process payroll using the Paylocity cloud-based payroll system. Monthly Maintain current and accurate ledgers, and complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations Manage the monthly and annual financial close processes Produce reports using Sage 50 (Peachtree) accounting software Oversee trust accounts and issue reconciliation reports to clients Coordinate timely filing of tax returns with outside CPA firm. Ensure financials and all controls are in accordance with GAAP Occasional Submit stop payment requests to the bank Other duties, as may be assigned Skills BA/BS degree with an accounting/finance focus preferred Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in financial administration and accounting and management Must have strong skills in Quickbooks, or PeachTree, or comparable accounting software Must have experience with Microsoft Excel and knowledge of features such as functions and filtering Must be detail-oriented, organized, and a team player Join us as an Accounting Specialist if you're passionate about leveraging your accounting expertise within a vibrant team dedicated to excellence!
