Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an Entry Level A/R Clerk for an on-site Accounts Receivables Clerk I opportunity in Oxnard, CA. This role is a great fit for someone with hands-on accounts receivable, billing, cash application, collections, or accounting support experience who is ready to grow in a professional accounting and finance environment. This position offers the chance to strengthen your A/R skills, work with customer account records, support billing and payment activity, and contribute to a dependable accounting team. Candidates who enjoy accuracy, organization, teamwork, and learning new processes will be well positioned for success. Key Responsibilities
- Process and apply customer payments accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain customer account records and update account information as needed.
- Prepare billing documentation and assist with accounts receivable support tasks.
- Support collections, cash application, and account reconciliation activities.
- Communicate professionally with internal teams and customers regarding account questions.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close needs, including overtime when required. Compensation and Benefits
Pay:
$23 to $24 per hour.- Increase upon hire based on performance.
Schedule:
Full eight-hour schedule each day.- Overtime may be required, particularly during month-end and year-end close.
- Work location: On-site in Oxnard, CA.
Type:
Temp-to-perm, typically on payroll for a minimum of 6 months before hire consideration. Required Qualifications and Skills- Process payments, billing documentation, and accounts receivable transactions.
- Maintain accurate customer account records and support cash application activity.
- Assist with collections, account follow-up, and accounting support tasks.
- Support month-end and year-end close requirements as needed.
- At least 6 months of accounts receivable, billing, cash application, collections, or related accounting support experience.
- Experience processing payments, maintaining customer account records, and/or preparing billing documentation.
- Accurate and efficient data-entry skills.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and dependable follow-through.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to clearly explain previous accounting support responsibilities.
- Must be available for an in-person interview.
- Background check and drug screen required.
- Candidates with only general clerical or administrative experience must also have relevant A/R, billing, cash application, collections, or accounting support exposure. Preferred Qualifications
- Recent college graduate with coursework or a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, plus relevant practical experience through employment, an internship, or a comparable setting.
- ERP or accounting software experience.
- Manufacturing or distribution industry experience.
