Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to join our esteemed fine dining restaurant. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with tax and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping within the hospitality industry and possess excellent organizational skills to support the financial health of our restaurant. Duties Manage all day-to-day financial transactions to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial activities. Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable, including processing invoices and payments. Process and reconcile daily sales and bank deposits to maintain accurate cash flow records. Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial accounts. Maintain organized and precise financial records, ensuring easy retrieval for audits or reporting purposes. Perform sales tax reconciliation and reporting in compliance with local regulations. Prepare financial statements and management reports to provide insights into the restaurant's financial performance. Process semi-monthly payroll, including tipped employees, ensuring accuracy and timely payments. Prepare and file W-2s and 1099s for employees and independent contractors. Coordinate and prepare records for year-end closing activities, supporting audits and tax filings. Requirements Proven experience as a full-charge bookkeeper or similar role within the hospitality or restaurant industry preferred. Strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll processing, and tax regulations relevant to restaurants. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms. Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills to collaborate with management and staff effectively. Knowledge of sales tax laws and reporting requirements applicable to restaurants is highly desirable.
