Job Description
We are looking for a dependable Bookkeeper to support a nonprofit organization in Redwood City, California through a Long-term Contract, part-time assignment scheduled for two days each week. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys managing day-to-day financial activity, keeping records accurate, and providing clear reporting to leadership. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, payroll processing, and reconciliations, along with the ability to work independently and stay highly organized.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the organization's full bookkeeping cycle in QuickBooks Online, ensuring financial records remain accurate and current.
- Process incoming payments, track receivables including donations, and manage reimbursements in a timely manner.
- Administer bi-weekly and monthly payroll activities while confirming payroll tax filings and related records are completed correctly.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card activity, and monthly expenses to maintain reliable account balances.
- Review available funds regularly and prepare cash position updates to help leadership monitor short-term financial health.
- Contribute to budget planning by tracking spending, comparing results against budget targets, and highlighting variances.
- Maintain well-organized financial files to support external audits and grant-related reporting requirements.
- Prepare recurring financial summaries, including expense reporting and budget-versus-actual analysis, for internal stakeholders.
