Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting operations for a California organization. This contract opportunity has the potential to become permanent and is ideal for someone who can independently manage core bookkeeping functions, keep financial records accurate, and contribute to a smooth monthly close process. The position calls for strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks, payroll administration, reconciliations, and routine financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the complete accounts payable and accounts receivable cycle, ensuring timely processing and accurate recordkeeping
- Maintain the general ledger by recording transactions, preparing journal entries, and reviewing account activity for accuracy
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other balance sheet accounts to resolve discrepancies promptly
- Administer payroll and keep supporting payroll documentation current and organized
- Produce monthly financial statements and provide support during month-end closing activities
- Track cash movement and preserve reliable accounting records to support daily financial operations
- Prepare and submit sales tax reports, 1099 documentation, and other recurring regulatory filings
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders during year-end audit preparation and tax-related reporting
- Uphold accounting controls, policies, and established procedures across bookkeeping activities
