Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. This role is vital in ensuring accurate payroll processing, meticulous management of accounts payable, and compliance with all relevant financial and labor laws. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong technical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach to resolving payroll and accounting issues. Duties Process payroll accurately and efficiently using payroll systems such as Quick books, Textura, ACH, ensuring timely delivery of employee wages and tax filings. Manage accounts payable functions by reviewing invoices, verifying expenses, and ensuring proper coding within accounting software like QuickBooks or PeopleSoft. Reconcile payroll and vendor accounts regularly to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly. Maintain compliance with employment and labor laws by staying updated on regulations related to payroll tax, labor law, and governmental accounting standards. Handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity while managing employee records. Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure proper time & attendance tracking through time management systems for accurate payroll processing. Qualifications Proven experience in payroll management, accounting, or finance roles with familiarity in payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro. Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation. Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel) for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation tasks. Familiarity with HR systems, time & attendance systems, and accounting software like QuickBooks is highly desirable. Understanding of employment & labor law, payroll tax regulations, and governmental accounting standards to ensure compliance across all processes. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation and identify discrepancies quickly. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while managing multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Pay:
$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
