Job Description

A construction contractor in North San Diego County is seeking a full-time Bookkeeper to support accounting, job costing, project financial tracking, and general ledger activity. This temp-to-hire Bookkeeper opportunity is ideal for someone with construction office experience who enjoys working with numbers, project details, and accounting systems in a fast-paced contractor environment. This role offers the opportunity to grow in construction accounting while gaining hands-on experience with QuickBooks, Procore, AP/AR, progress billing, job costing, budgeting, and project closeout support. The work environment is team-oriented and detail-focused, with supportive leadership, steady project activity, and the opportunity to build a long-term career path in construction finance. Key Responsibilities
  • Enter and maintain accurate financial, project, and job-cost data in QuickBooks.
  • Track project costs, budgets, billing activity, profitability, and supporting documentation.
  • Support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, progress billing, and project closeout processes.
  • Assist with Procore tasks, including uploading contracts and change orders and identifying QuickBooks sync errors.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain audit-ready accounting records.
  • Assist with year-end audit documentation, CPA requests, and general administrative accounting support. Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay:
    $28 to $32 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Employment Type:
    Temp-to-Hire, Full-Time.
  • Schedule:
    Monday through Friday, in office.
  • Hours:
    6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
