The Corporate Accounting Assistant works closely with the Corporate Accountant in the management of all financial transactions, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Banking, and Payroll functions. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential financial and personnel information with professionalism and accuracy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide general accounting and administrative support to the Corporate Accountant Maintain and reconcile financial records across multiple databases and systems Perform high-volume bank reconciliations for multiple accounts Process semi-monthly payroll for multiple companies using payroll services Verify accuracy of payroll reports and maintain payroll records Resolve issues with payroll service providers, including technical and billing matters Adjust payroll software settings to ensure compliance with current laws and regulations Prepare workers' compensation reports and verify accuracy of workers' compensation policies Review workers' compensation audit results and dispute findings when necessary Reconcile corporate accounts payable and company credit card accounts Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and employee information Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Corporate Accountant Qualifications Associate's degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or related field required Working knowledge of standardized accounting practices and GAAP principles Payroll processing experience required Knowledge of California payroll laws, including overtime rules, sick pay requirements, and the CalSavers program Experience handling confidential financial and personnel information Experience working with ERP systems Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and spreadsheet tools Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to understand and apply company procedures and policies in various situations High attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after training Personal and Professional Qualities Strong written and verbal communication skills Professional attitude and appearance Strong work ethic and positive attitude Dependable with regular and prompt attendance Willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others Schedule and Work Requirements Regular work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Ability to work overtime when needed Work Environment This position operates in a professional office environment and requires prolonged periods of computer and desk work. The employee may occasionally be required to lift office materials and files.
Pay:
$29.00 - $31.00 per hour
