Job Description

ACCOUNTING/OFFICE ASSISTANT

Accounts Payable & Purchasing

• Paradigm Mechanical Corp. / San Diego Refrigeration About Us We're a mechanical contractor in East County San Diego, built from scratch over 15 years into an $18-24M commercial and federal construction business, with a refrigeration service company we acquired and are growing. Two brands, one team.

Our purpose is simple:

we solve complex challenges for our clients in ways others can't or won't. That takes people who care about getting it right. We're looking for an organized, detail-driven accounting assistant to run our accounts payable and purchasing. It's a real job with real ownership — you'll be the person who keeps money moving correctly between us, our vendors, and our subcontractors. What You'll Do Accounts payable for both brands — enter and code invoices in ComputerEase, prepare payment runs, and keep the AP files clean and current. Purchase orders — issue vendor POs, enter them in ComputerEase, and reconcile the PO log at month end. Vendor management — set up new vendors, maintain the vendor list, and keep W-9s, terms, and contact information current. Subcontractor administration — track subcontractor invoices, change orders, insurance certificates, preliminary notices, and lien releases, and follow up until they're in hand. Credit cards — reconcile, code, and pay company credit card accounts Office support and data entry — assemble job books, manage the accounting inbox, and keep the office running. What You Need to Have 2+ years of accounts payable or bookkeeping experience. Genuinely accurate data entry — this job rewards people who catch things. Comfort in Excel and an accounting system. Follow-through. A lot of this role is chasing paperwork until it shows up, without being reminded to. A friendly, professional way with vendors, subcontractors, and the field. What Moves You to the Top of the Pile Construction AP experience — lien releases, preliminary notices, subcontractor billings, retention. ComputerEase, Foundation, Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint, or similar. Experience with W-9s and 1099 reporting. Purchase order and PO log experience. How We Work Our core values aren't on a poster somewhere — they're how we hire and how we decide. Attention to Detail. In the field and in the books. Go Getter. Nobody here waits to be told. If you see it, you own it. Work Hard, Play Hard. We put in what the job requires, and we celebrate when it's done. Impact. On our clients, on our people, and on East County — where we live, and where we give back. What We Offer $28-$33 per hour depending on experience 401(k) Plan with Profit Sharing 100% Employer-Paid Health Insurance (choice of Sharp, Kaiser, or Scripps); optional dependent coverage via payroll deduction Voluntary Dental, Vision & Disability Coverage Generous Paid Time Off — vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays A small team where your work is visible and your name is known How to Apply Send your resume to sales@pmccontracting.com . Skip the cover letter — instead, answer this in a few sentences: What do you check before a subcontractor gets paid? Every application gets read by a person. If it's a fit, you'll hear from us within a week. Paradigm Mechanical Corp. is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
