In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the overall accounting functions of our organization. Your expertise will help ensure compliance with accounting standards and contribute to the smooth operation of our financial processes. Upon discussion and agreement, this position offers flexibility to work with your schedule dependent on your individual situation within the working hours of M-F 8-5. Experience in any construction field accounting is a plus. Responsibilities Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections Prepare and record journal entries accurately within various accounting software systems such as QuickBooks Online, Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and balance sheets to maintain financial accuracy Support month-end and year-end closing procedures by preparing financial reports and performing account analysis Maintain organized records of financial transactions using spreadsheets and accounting software Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant accounting standards Process monthly progress/ final billings on AIA/ Textura/ GCPAY applications among others Process contract requirements such as city licenses, COIs, preliminary liens, etc. Process and facilitate various administrative needs of a construction business Requirements Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and other financial systems Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation Familiarity accounts payable/receivable management, bank reconciliation, and account analysis Excellent skills in spreadsheets for data entry, analysis, and reporting purposes Knowledge of financial concepts including budgeting, financial report writing, and account reconciliation procedures Ability to interpret financial statements accurately while adhering to accounting standards like GAAP Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
