As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you are part of that foundation. The Account Receivable Specialist helps to ensure that individuals facing mental health and addiction challenges can access care by thoughtfully verifying and maintaining insurance benefits and eligibility. Working closely with insurance partners, finance teams, and client financial records, you'll support a smooth, reliable billing process that allows compassion to remain at the center of everything we do. With a high level of autonomy and trust, you will make decisions that directly influence the effectiveness of the accounts receivable department and the organization's ability to serve our community. You are often a trusted point of contact, responding to questions from clients and colleagues with patience, clarity, and respect, while collaborating with others to solve problems and improve processes. Your work will help strengthen the revenue cycle, not just through accuracy and efficiency, but through care and accountability. By improving billing outcomes behind the scenes, you help ensure our clinicians can focus on what matters most: providing compassionate, comprehensive care to those who need it.What You Will Do:
Support North Range Behavioral Health's mission by helping ensure clients can access compassionate, comprehensive care without unnecessary financial barriers. Serve as a trusted steward of client financial and insurance information by accurately maintaining eligibility and billing details in the electronic health records (EHR). Partner with clients, clinical teams, and insurance payers to answer questions, explain benefits and financial responsibilities, and resolve billing concerns with clarity and empathy. Acts as a key liaison between clinical teams, front desk staff, and payers, ensuring timely communication of insurance updates and supporting clinicians with required administrative documentation. Create, submit, and follow up on insurance claims, monitor denials, and work collaboratively to resolve issues so services are billed correctly and promptly. Help clients navigate payment options, including sliding fee scales and payment plans, in accordance with policy and with compassion for individual circumstances. Monitor accounts receivable activity, including aging balances and payer requirements, and take actions to support timely resolution and organizational sustainability. Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending process enhancements that improve efficiency, accuracy, and client experience. Work collaboratively with Accounts Receivable Leads and Management to resolve complex issues and support billing system functionality. You're aGreat Fit If You:
Have a High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience in healthcare/medical insurance or service environment. Have at least one year of recent accounts receivable/customer services experience in healthcare billing and collections to include computerized billing systems, cash receipts, private collections, Medicaid, Medicare, managed care and/or traditional insurance. Electronic health record experience is preferred. Have the ability to pass a background check, including fingerprinting, drug screening, and a tb test.Perks and Benefits:
