Accounting Assistant / Accounts Payable Specialist Position Summary Miyoshi America, Inc., a growing manufacturing company located in Dayville, Connecticut, is seeking an Accounting Assistant / Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Accounting team. This position is primarily responsible for Accounts Payable processing, vendor invoice management, account reconciliations, inventory-related invoicing, and freight claim administration. The role also serves as a backup for Accounts Receivable activities and provides support for month-end accounting processes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with vendors, internal departments, and fellow accounting team members. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional seeking to broaden their experience within a dynamic manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Process vendor invoices and obtain appropriate approvals. Research and resolve invoice, pricing, quantity, and receiving discrepancies. Reconcile Accounts Payable, Receiving Not Invoiced (RNI), and related General Ledger accounts. Process inventory and freight invoices and administer freight claims. Prepare vendor payments and maintain vendor records. Assist with intercompany accounting transactions and reconciliations. Provide backup support for customer invoicing, collections, and Accounts Receivable activities. Support month-end closing activities and special accounting projects. Assist with process improvements and maintain accurate accounting records. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 3+ years of Accounts Payable, Accounting Assistant, or related accounting experience. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
