Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Accounts Payable Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the company's outgoing payments, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help streamline our accounts payable processes, support financial integrity, and contribute to the overall health of our organization's financial operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in corporate accounting, financial software, and compliance while working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders with precision using various accounting software such as SAP, QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage. Perform account reconciliation tasks to ensure accuracy of accounts payable records and resolve discrepancies efficiently. Maintain detailed records of all transactions, including journal entries, debit & credit postings, and supporting documentation. Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements during all accounting activities. Assist with month-end closing procedures by preparing necessary reports and supporting documentation for audit readiness. Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve invoice discrepancies or payment issues promptly. Support other financial functions such as accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and budgeting as needed. Experience Proven experience in accounts payable or related accounting roles within a corporate or governmental setting. Familiarity with financial software such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, PeopleSoft or similar platforms. Strong understanding of accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, balance sheet reconciliation, and journal entries. Knowledge of payroll management systems and tax regulations related to accounts payable is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to perform data entry accurately at a high volume with excellent attention to detail. Experience working with accounting standards like GAAP and SOX compliance is preferred. Ability to analyze account data critically using tools like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or similar software packages.
