Overview Join our dynamic team as an Accounting Clerk and become a vital contributor to our organization's financial health! In this energetic role, you will handle essential accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance across various financial processes. Your will be responsible for the daily financial transactions and routine office tasks for the Wallingford Senior Center business office. This role includes handling of all onsite paperwork for AR, AP, payroll, pension contributions and banking transactions to ensure everything is processed in a timely and accurate manner. Your keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills will support smooth operations and help us maintain reliable financial records. Duties Prepare all cash and checks for deposit on a daily basis. Make deposits for all bank accounts using daily reconciliation sheets. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment posting, and customer service inquiries. Prepare and submit payroll spreadsheet for processing on a weekly basis. Handle confidential information with integrity while managing accounts receivable management. Support budgeting activities through Excel data entry and detailed spreadsheet management. Assist in Front Desk reception coverage as needed. Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account reconciliation. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and provide exceptional customer service related to financial inquiries.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or above with bookkeeping/accounting experience. Five years of experience preferred. Demonstrated ability with bookkeeping principles, cash handling and check reconciliation. Must possess computer skills and be familiar with Excel. Must possess basic math and data entry skills. An ability to follow oral and written directions and excellent organizational skills. Attention to detail and accuracy and good attendance are priorities.
