This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage financial records, ensure accuracy in accounting processes, and support the organization's financial health. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting principles, proficiency with various financial software, and a passion for maintaining precise financial data. This position is perfect for someone looking to contribute their bookkeeping expertise in a flexible, part-time capacity while making a meaningful impact on our organization's success. Two days per week - preferaby Tuesday and Wednesay, with some flexibility. Help us migrate from QBO to Xero in 2026. Duties Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and other relevant systems Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately Prepare journal entries, ledger postings, and double-entry bookkeeping to reflect all financial activities Assist with payroll processing, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards Support budgeting efforts by analyzing expenses and preparing financial reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Conduct account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and account reconciliation tasks to verify data integrity Skills Proven experience with bookkeeping, accounting systems, and financial software such as QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and other accounting platforms Strong understanding of accounting standards including GAAP and technical accounting concepts Excellent knowledge of debits & credits, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting Proficiency with spreadsheets for data analysis and report writing Ability to perform bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, and account analysis accurately Experience with payroll processing and understanding of payroll regulations Familiarity with non-profit accounting practices and corporate accounting procedures is a plus Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Students/Retirees incouraged to apply!
