Job Description

About the Position We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to oversee the day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting operations for our bankruptcy and personal injury law firms. This is a hands-on position for someone who can work independently, manage multiple entities and accounts, and take ownership of accurate and timely financial records. The ideal candidate will have experience with law firm accounting, QuickBooks, trust/IOLTA accounts, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and legal payment processing. Key Responsibilities Manage bookkeeping for multiple law firm entities and accounts. Perform monthly bank, credit card, operating, and trust/IOLTA reconciliations. Maintain accurate general ledger and financial records. Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and client payments. Record and reconcile ACH, credit card, check, and other payments .Handle client trust/IOLTA transactions and maintain accurate supporting documentation. Assist with personal injury settlement accounting and disbursements. Track bankruptcy-related payments and expenses, including trustee payments. Monitor outstanding balances, checks, and deposits. Prepare monthly financial reports and accounting schedules. Assist with month-end and year-end closing.

Identify and resolve discrepancies independently. Work closely with attorneys and administrative staff regarding financial matters. Maintain confidentiality of client and firm financial information. Qualifications 3+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience. Law firm bookkeeping experience strongly preferred. Experience with QuickBooks required. Experience with trust/IOLTA accounting strongly preferred. Personal injury and/or bankruptcy accounting experience is a major plus. Strong understanding of reconciliations, debits/credits, and general ledger accounting. Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Able to manage multiple entities, accounts, and deadlines independently. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to take ownership of the accounting function with minimal supervision. The successful candidate should be comfortable working independently, investigating discrepancies, meeting deadlines, and maintaining a high level of accuracy when handling both firm and client funds.
Pay:
$60,000.00 per year
