Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a team in Orlando, Florida on a long-term contract basis. This position focuses on processing payables accurately, maintaining organized financial records, and supporting timely vendor payments. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound invoice handling experience, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced accounting environment.

Responsibilities:

• Review incoming invoices for accuracy, assign the appropriate coding, and prepare them for entry into the accounting system.
• Process accounts payable transactions in a timely manner to help ensure vendors are paid according to established schedules.
• Manage electronic payments, including ACH activity, while maintaining proper documentation for each transaction.
• Prepare and execute check runs with close attention to deadlines, approvals, and payment accuracy.
• Enter invoice details into financial systems and verify that information aligns with supporting records.
• Reconcile payable records, research discrepancies, and work with internal partners or vendors to resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain organized accounts payable files and supporting documentation to assist with audits and reporting needs. Requirements
• Previous experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support position.
• Working knowledge of invoice coding, account classification, and high-volume data entry.
• Hands-on experience processing ACH payments and coordinating check disbursements.
• Ability to review financial documents carefully and identify inconsistencies or errors.
• Proficiency with accounting software and standard Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.
