About the Company We are a contractor specializing in residential and commercial aluminum construction in Manatee and Sarasota counties. Located in Sarasota, we have built a strong local reputation for exceptional construction quality. Company has a unique opportunity for hands-on Accounting Manager who, reporting directly to company ownership, will lead day-to-day operations of the office including the accounting and finance function. About the Role The Accounting Manager will manage and execute daily accounting tasks, financial reporting, and compliance activities. This hands-on, administrative role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company's operational objectives and will report directly to the ownership team. A successful candidate will be able to operate and function at both a hands-on accounting level and assist with strategic initiatives. Job Duties and Responsibilities Financial Management, Accounting and Reporting
  • Manage and/ or perform accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and general ledger accounting processes for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage and/or perform the reconciliation of accounting ledgers.
  • Manage cash flows, bank account transfers, and reconciliation of monthly bank statements.
  • Prepare timely and accurate weekly reports and monthly financial statements.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting and planning process. Leadership/Management
  • Manage and supervise the work of 3-5 staff to help ensure effective operations.
  • Schedule and lead meetings to report on monthly financial results. Other
  • Coordinate general HR responsibilities for all employees using HRIS platform; set up and monitor review cycles, and direct the administration of employee benefit programs.
  • Any other relevant tasks or duties assigned by company ownership. Qualifications
  • General:
    Honesty, integrity, trustworthiness, ability to lead and exercise strong discretion, work independently, take initiative, meet multiple and competing deadlines, participate as an effective team member, posses a high level of flexibility, resourcefulness, and critical thinking, and follow tasks through to completion on a timely basis.
  • Experience:
    5 years related accounting experience
  • Education:
    Associate's degree in accounting or finance required. Bachelor's preferred.
  • Accounting skills: Knowledge of GAAP, and solid experience with accurate debit/credit general ledger. Must be familiar with typical closing processes and journal entries such as bank reconciliations.
  • Technology skills: Solid experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel and Outlook proficiency a must). Must possess comfort with coordinating the implementation and integration of new software with accounting systems.
  • Organizational skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Communication skills: Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills.
