Job Description
The Purchasing Coordinator performs various key duties related to purchasing and receiving against purchase orders (POs), invoice processing and liaison between accounts payable and purchasing managers. Perform various key duties related to the accounting department. This role may be referred to as an Accounting Specialist. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receives incoming goods and services related to open purchase orders or stock orders Confirms quantity, pricing and accuracy of all orders Processes returns and credits Manages workflow approval process thru document imaging and PO Management Handles invoice problem solution, communication with vendors and statement follow up Communicates to purchasing any incoming material discrepancy Maintains self-assessment sales tax logs, general ledgers recon and JE binders. Assists with month end functions, as needed Overtime, nights and weekend work may be required as customer service needs fluctuate
Technical Skills:
Reading Comprehension- Requires reading to understand moderately complex material (Instruction manuals, procedural manuals, warning labels, etc.) Writing Proficiency
- Requires writing to provide information where some creativity is needed (form letters, short memorandums, etc.) Mathematical/Numerical Skills
- Basic arithmetic is required (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers) Planning and Organizing
- Plans day-to-day activities of this job only and takes individual initiative in performing daily workflow Great Plains Experience a plus Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Minimum Soft Skill Qualifications Very organized, and attention to detail Ability to multi-task and rearranging priorities Ability to work with interruptions and meet deadlines Has a measure of numeric calculation ability.
