Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting the Finance Department with daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely processing and accuracy Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, including accruals and journal entries Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities and financial reports Reconcile bank statements, balance sheet accounts, and vendor statements Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed Assist with audits by providing required documentation and explanations Maintain organized accounting records in compliance with company policies Monitor expenses and assist in budget tracking Maintain and update accounting information within QuickBooks and other financial systems to ensure data integrity. Assist with payroll-related accounting entries and reconciliations. Support the Finance Manager with special projects as needed.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (2-year) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree (4-year) preferred. 2+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping preferred Strong understanding of GAAP and basic accounting principles Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar) Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas) Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently when needed.

The work is typically performed indoors.
