Job Description

Atlanta Heart Associate is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to work to resolve unpaid insurance claims, file appeals on behalf of the facility and patients. Duties and Responsibilities Include the
Following:
  • Review claims for accuracy
  • Addressing Clearinghouse rejections and works to completion
  • Files secondary insurance claims and sees through to payment
  • Write appeals to prove medical necessity with clinical information provided
  • Contacting insurance companies for follow up of submissions and status of reviews or appeal
  • Faxing and/or mailing medical records to the requesting insurance company
  • Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Language Ability
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as clinical documentation and insurance correspondence
  • Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to understand what type of submission is required and identifies discrepancies related to billing
  • Computer Skills
  • To perform this job successfully, the individual should have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, internet software, and database software
  • Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years in this type of work
  • Experience using EPIC is preferred.
