Job Description

Position Title:
Accounting Clerk Employment Status:
Full-Time, Year-Round Job Summary:
The Accounting Clerk supports the resort's core accounting functions, with emphasis on accounts payable, payroll, and accounts receivable, along with recurring reconciliations and other general accounting duties. This role works closely with the Accounting Manager and the broader Finance team to keep vendor payments, payroll, and cash records accurate and current.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable Process vendor invoices for payment, matching to purchase orders and approvals as required. Prepare and issue accounts payable payments by check, ACH, or card, and maintain accurate AP records. Maintain vendor files, W-9 collection, and 1099 preparation at year end. Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices and payment status. Payroll Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees each pay period using Paycom, including new hires, terminations, deductions, and adjustments. Reconcile payroll registers to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies before posting. Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay statements and deductions. Accounts Receivable Prepare and issue customer invoices and track outstanding balances. Post cash receipts and apply payments against open invoices. Follow up on past-due accounts and maintain an accurate AR aging schedule. Reconciliations and General Accounting Perform recurring reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and deposit accounts, and resolve discrepancies promptly. Reconcile subledger activity (AP, AR, payroll) to the general ledger on a regular schedule. Support month-end close by preparing assigned schedules and reconciliations for the Accounting Manager's review. Maintain accurate, organized documentation to support audit and tax filing requirements. Identify process improvements across AP, payroll, AR, and reconciliation workflows and bring them to the Accounting Manager. Perform other accounting support duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred. 1 to 3 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, or general accounting. Experience with payroll software required; Paycom experience preferred. Experience with an accounting or ERP system preferred; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central a plus. Comfortable performing recurring account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies independently.
Other Requirements:
Strong attention to detail and comfort working against recurring deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality of payroll and financial information. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general office software. Comfortable working in a seasonal resort environment with fluctuating workload between winter and summer operations.
