Job Description

About Us:
Lucas Group is a dynamic accounting firm specializing in tax planning and preparation, auditing services, bookkeeping, payroll, and advising small businesses. Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and professional person to provide accounting services to our growing client base, covering a wide range of industries. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in helping to ensure the smooth operation of the firm and maintaining the high standards of service our clients expect.
Key Responsibilities Support Services:
  • Assist team members with administrative tasks, such as document preparation, scanning, and audit binding, and data entry.
  • Greet and assist clients in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Support the management team with project coordination and execution.
Bookkeeping:
  • Maintain accurate financial records for clients, including general ledger entries.
  • Reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Prepare month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Performs full-service accounting.
  • Sales Tax processing.
Payroll Processing:
  • Process payroll for clients, ensuring accuracy, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Prepare and file payroll tax returns and reports.
  • Set up and organize any new payroll clients.
  • Prepare and review all quarterly / annual reports to ensure their accuracy.
  • Preparation of 1099 filings.
Client Interaction:
  • Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information and address inquiries.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Provide exceptional client service and ensure confidentiality of client information.
  • Software training and facilitating transition from one software to another.
  • Participate in business development activities including client proposals.
Compliance & Documentation:
  • Ensure all financial practices comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation for all client engagements.
Additional Duties:
  • Meeting or exceeding the billable hour requirements set.
  • Other duties as they are assigned.
  • Participation in events, special trainings (internal / external), special projects
Billable Time Expectations:
1,200
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience with payroll and bookkeeping services, preferably in a public accounting firm.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
